How much does tutoring cost? ▼
Sessions are £18 per hour — all-inclusive. This covers the 1-to-1 lesson time plus homework set each week. There are no hidden charges. The initial consultation call (20 minutes) is completely free with no obligation to book.
How do sessions take place? ▼
All sessions are online via Google Meet. Once you book, you'll receive a meeting link to join at your scheduled time. You'll need a device with a camera and microphone — a laptop or tablet works best, but phones also work.
What subjects do you offer? ▼
We currently offer 1-to-1 tutoring in Mathematics and Chemistry, up to level. Both Foundation and Higher tier are covered for Maths. If you'd like to do both subjects, we can arrange sessions for each separately.
Who is the tutor? ▼
Your tutor is Taran — a current sixth form student who achieved above Grade A in every , including top marks in Maths and Chemistry. Taran sat s recently, which means an up-to-date understanding of the exact syllabus, mark schemes, and exam style.
Is homework really included? ▼
Yes! Homework is set at the end of every session and is completely included in the £18/hour rate. It's tailored to what was covered in the session and designed to consolidate learning. You're never charged extra for it.
What year groups do you tutor? ▼
BrightNest works with students from Year 1 all the way through to Year 11. Whether you're building foundations early, getting ahead in Years 7–9, or need focused support in Years 10 and 11 heading into s, Taran can help at any stage.
How many sessions per week do I need? ▼
This depends entirely on your goals and timeline. Many students benefit from one session per week per subject, but we can discuss the right frequency during your free consultation. There's no minimum commitment — you can book as needed.
What is the free consultation? ▼
The free 20-minute consultation is an introductory call where we discuss your goals, identify specific weak areas, and plan a learning approach. It's completely free, with no obligation to book sessions afterwards. It's simply a chance to see if we're a good match.
How do I pay? ▼
Payment details will be confirmed during your consultation. We typically accept bank transfer. Payment is usually made per session or in bundles — whichever suits you best. No advance payment is required until you're happy to proceed.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule? ▼
Life happens! We ask for at least 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel a session at no charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may incur a fee, which we'll discuss during the consultation.
Can I do a trial session before committing? ▼
Absolutely — there's no commitment required at all. You can book a single session to try it out. If it's not the right fit, no pressure. We believe the quality should speak for itself from the very first lesson.
Will you follow my school's syllabus? ▼
Yes! Just let us know which exam board you're following (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.) and we'll tailor every session to your specific specification. We'll also use your school's textbooks and past papers if you share them.
